Frisco Public Library wants to help you live better.  Om Well, this Saturday, April 6th, 10am – 3pm, is a dedicated day of wellness.  Local experts will teach how to eat better, start exercising, and practice mindfulness to gain peace of mind in a chaotic world.  More than a dozen presenters will cover a wide range of topics from nutrition, to meditation, to all levels of fitness. Whether your goal for 2019 is to reach elite levels of wellness or simply get off the couch a bit more, Om Well has something for you.

This event is open to all. There are no fees or registration.

Om Well participants can choose their own path and are welcome to come and go throughout the day. There will be Learn and Move tracks.  Learn sessions are a lecture format with time for Q & As; Move sessions help you “get up and get moving.” Guests are encouraged to dress for comfort and activity.

The Learn presentations are in Council Chambers:

10:00am         Fitness/Yoga: Frisco fitness guru Jenny Dean kicks off the day with a discussion of her approach to wellness.

11:00am         Running: Frisco Running Co. will talk you through the full process of moving from your couch to your first 10K.

1:00pm           Nutrition: Erin McKool, owner of Start, will demystify current diet trends, and help you make informed choices.

2:00pm           Mindfulness: Ashlie Woods, creator of Wildhearted, will explain the benefits of mindfulness and equip you with tools to achieve it.

While Learn sessions are going on in Council Chambers, Move sessions will be held on the third floor landing of City Hall every 30 minutes. There will be a variety of presenters practicing a wide selection of exercises. Everyone is welcome to join in as they please.

“People of all ages and any fitness level are welcome to come together as a community to share the gift of health,” says Jenny Dean. “A healthier you is a happier you!”

Take this opportunity to gain valuable tips and tricks geared to helping you reach your wellness goals. Your mind and body will thank you!
