Frisco, TEXAS (January 26, 2012) – Frisco Square Development and Frisco Arts announce the selection of the 2012 Arts in the Square jurors. A wonderful pool of talented jurors select the very best in all categories during the 3nd annual Arts in the Square on Saturday, March 31st 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 1st, 2012, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. The jurors are internationally, nationally, and locally recognized artists as well as art lovers.
Lucille Cole Carter, an award-winning signature member of Associated Creative Artists, is an outstanding fine artist and is nationally recognized for her vivid oil and acrylic paintings. Allison Jernigan, Director of Business Development for Cinemark, has a passion for the arts and community and serves with her involvement in various area charitable organizations. Mandy Meadows is a digital/social media expert with a love of the arts and also an avid community supporter. Diana Moya, Lead Artist for the festival, is a contemporary American artist and independent curator in Frisco with exhibits of her works that have traveled internationally. She has been an art professional for over 20 years. D.K. Richardson is an award winning artist in Realism focusing on capturing character, beyond photography, the true identity in still life, landscapes, and portraiture. Scott Trent is a metal sculpture, academic, and founding director of the Henderson Art Project and president of Support the Arts. In addition to the talented juror selection the Fine Arts festival has received a "Great response from accomplished artists from all over the United States who will be participating in this year’s Arts in the Square," said Diana Moya, Lead Artist for the festival.
Arts in the Square is an annual, juried Fine Arts festival featuring the best national and regional artists who sell their original creations. The 3rd annual Arts in the Square is co-presented and hosted by Frisco Square Development, which maintains a reputation of bringing high end buying crowds to this event, and Frisco Arts, which manages the Frisco Discovery Center. Over 12,000 visitors attended the 2011 festival. In addition to providing the community with a high-quality cultural event, the festival brings a great Fine Arts experience to the Frisco community. Frisco Arts, the Official Art Agency of Frisco, is designated to enrich the Frisco community by supporting the awareness, presence and practice of the visual, musical, and performing arts.
