Participating Stonebriar Centre retailers include Altar’d State, Dillard’s, Forever 21, JCPenney, Wet Seal and Williams- Sonoma. Hair and makeup for the teen models is provided by JCPenney’s new Salon by InStyle Magazine.

“The Junior Style Show is a cornerstone of the Charity League’s junior class year and features the 11th grade girls in our organization as models. The fashion show is fun, and we always have excellent attendance,” says Vedra DeVos, patroness activities vice president. “We appreciate the support from Stonebriar Centre and the stores that are providing the fashions for the event. Stonebriar Centre is a natural gathering spot for Frisco, not to mention the fashion center of the area.”

The Junior Style Show will be held in the court by Dillard’s and Sears at Stonebriar Centre. Guests may choose to stand and enjoy the show at no charge, or the National Charity League has reserved seats available. To reserve a seat for the show, email northprestonwoodncl@gmail.com

Summer’s almost over, but The Parks Mall at Arlington says there’s still time for some fun when Kids Kamp hosts an end-of-summer carnival on Thursday, August 20. Like an old-fashioned county fair, the shopping center will be packed with all sorts of silliness. There will be mascots, jugglers tossing and twisting, artists painting faces or making balloon creatures and so much more. There will even be a special performance by the Ramazini’s clowns at 11:30 a.m.

The fun starts at 11 a.m. and the first 150 children to check in on the lower level in Center Court near Guest Services will receive a goodie bag filled with little kid-style surprises, plus coupons and samples from The Parks Mall at Arlington retailers.

At 11:30 a.m., guests will be treated by a special performance by The Ramazini’s, a pair of traveling clowns who performed with Ringling Bros. Circus. The Ramazini’s show will feature a little bit of everything expected from clowns – pantomime, slapstick, contortions, magic, juggling, acrobatics and music, too! There’s no charge to see the performance; it’s all part of the Kids Kamp fun.

Center Court will be brimming with activities and rocking with music. Kids can stop by and have their faces painted. A balloon artist will be giving away colorful balloons that have been twisted into works of art and cute animals. Jugglers will amaze you with their feats of balance, tossing multiple objects with ease. Kids can have their pictures taken with some of their favorite mascots, including Bearemy from Build-A-Bear Workshop, Chick-fil-A Cow and Cookie Man from Great American Cookie.

Along with all the fun in Center Court, retailers throughout The Parks Mall at Arlington will host activity stations where little ones can enjoy more fun with special kid-style games. A special stop will be hosted by Round 1, the fun new entertainment venue at the center. At the Round 1 station, larger-than-usual bowling pins will invite kits to step up to the UFO crane catcher game machine and win prizes.

In addition to the end-of-summer carnival fun, shoppers who spend $100 or more at one or more retailers at The Parks Mall at Arlington between Monday, August 17 and Thursday, August 20 are eligible to receive a $10 Shop Etc gift card, while supplies last. Shoppers must present receipts to the Guest Service desk located on the lower level near Victoria’s Secret and Oakley by 9 p.m. August 20. To qualify, receipts must be dated any days beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, August 17 to Thursday, August 20 at 9 p.m. Bill payments do not apply.

Kids Kamp is presented compliments of The Parks Mall at Arlington. There is no charge to attend and reservations are not needed. Adults must stay with the children during the activities.

UNLESS ALREADY ADOPTED, CHARITY WILL BE AT STONEBRIAR CENTRE AUGUST 15. PHOTOS COURTESY LOST PAWS.

Celebrate the Dog Days of summer and adopt a homeless dog on Saturday, August 15 at Stonebriar Centre. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., volunteers from Lost Paws Rescue of Texas will be at the shopping center showcasing a variety of dogs that are available for adoption by qualified individuals. The adoption booth and animals will be on on the lower level in Sears court.

Lost Paws specializes in re-homing, rescuing and fostering of small to mid-size and larger dogs. All rescue dogs are immunized, spayed or neutered, treated for parasites, and receive heartworm treatment, if needed, so they are ready for immediate adoption. The application process screens potential pet owners and maximizes the match between the owner and the animal. The adoption fees are $200 for dogs. The dog adoption fee varies if the dog is a purebred or is a senior.

In September, Lost Paws Rescue volunteers will be at Stonebriar Centre on Saturday, September 26.

Lost Paws Rescue of Texas was organized to prevent animal suffering, animal cruelty and to help educate the public about spaying and neutering their pets as well as responsible pet ownership. For more information, visit www.lostpawsrescueoftexas.org or contact Jet Parker at (214) 677-6727.
