Last week was truly a whirlwind of a week, but I’m pausing to reflect on how truly grateful I am. On Friday, I attended a luncheon where the 2023 FC Dallas Homegrown Partners were introduced. Five businesses, out of 180 applications, were chosen for this program and Oasis Accents is one of them. Just pinch me!
I had an opportunity to meet Dan Hunt, an avid art collector, and Clark Hunt and learn about the historical significance of this family in putting football and soccer on the map. There are two words that sum up the afternoon for me and they are PASSION AND EXCELLENCE. All greatness starts with these two words. I am truly blessed to partner with such a world class organization and I look forward to engaging with their executives, employees, partners and fans. And one of the perks today was also taking a picture with the Kansas City Chiefs Lombardi trophy which was flown in for the day.
I applied to this program last October and had three interviews as part of the selection process. There are two people that I want to thank for their continued support. First, thank you to Tammy Suh Meinershagen for providing advice and coaching throughout the selection process. I’m so happy you could join me at the luncheon today. Second, when I first mentioned to Mayor Jeff Cheney that I was applying to the program and the tremendous opportunity it would provide for my small business, he gave me his full support and recommended me for the program. Jeff Cheney and his team have been my customers and supporters from the very beginning. One of the lessons that I’ve learned over the last couple of years is that our Frisco community is always ready to help. All you have to do is ask, and that includes our Mayor. Thank you so much for your support and everything you do for our community and small businesses.
