To do all they can to positively impact the lives of others through senior care, Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco, an assisted living and memory care community, recently launched a year-round program called “Cookies for Kindness.” The program was created to spread joy to area seniors and caregivers who live outside of the Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco community through a universal language – cookies. Through the program, the public can nominate a deserving person who lives in Frisco and could use an extra boost and deserve to have his or her day brightened. Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco is partnering with a local family-owned bakery, Coffee N Cream, to create the cookies, and a staff person from the senior living community will hand-deliver them. The senior living community is asking for the public to help by nominating deserving individuals who give much of themselves and don’t ask for anything in return.

“When we developed Mustang Creek Estates, we created a home in every way, from the smells of the kitchen to the design of the interior and exterior, and that extends to this program, because we are a family, and truly want to help other families,” said Renee Ramsey, co-founder and CEO of Mustang Creek Estates. “This is part of our mission and why we exist – to show compassion to seniors. We look forward to recognizing the worthy people who are nominated for this program and brightening the days of others.”

Many times when a senior or caregiver is going through a hard time, whether it be the loss of a loved one, a sudden illness or other stress, the person becomes lonely or isolated. Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco seeks to offer a new way to reach out to these people to provide comfort, a smiling face and some compassion at their doorstep.

“We’ve seen firsthand how hard it can be for caregivers and families to take care of themselves when they’re so focused on doing for others,” said Candy Jiwa, executive director of Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco. “Just like we hope to provide support to the families we serve daily, we want to lift the spirits of those who need and deserve it throughout Frisco. It’s the least we can do to spread a little extra joy to others, but we need the public’s help to nominate these worthy individuals. We hope they’ll help us identify those who could use a sweet treat and a smile.”
