Frisco Seniors Handcraft Cards to Encourage Kindergarteners as School Year Begins

Starting school as a kindergartener can be a scary or uncertain time for any child. To offer support – as they once did with their own children and continue to do with their grandchildren – senior residents at Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco are making sure each kindergarten student at Polly Tadlock Elementary in Frisco receives some comfort and reassurance as they begin the school year. This month, residents and volunteers are meeting twice a week at Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco to make cards with special messages of encouragement inside. They will visit each Tadlock Elementary kindergarten class – about 90 children in total – to pass out the cards. The goal is to show the children that there are people in Frisco supporting them and wishing them well at the start of the school year.

This activity is part of an ongoing partnership between Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco and Polly Tadlock Elementary. This school holds special meaning to the senior living community because they purchased the land the community sits on from Polly Tadlock, and the partnership with the school was created to honor her continued legacy in the community.
