Friday, Feb. 7, Centennial Medical Center showed its support in the fight against heart disease by participating in National Wear Red Day, an annual part of American Heart Month. This yearly health observance, first recognized in 2003, was designed to save lives and raise awareness for heart disease, which kills more women each year than all forms of cancer combined.

In addition to participating in National Wear Red Day, Centennial is fighting heart disease by encouraging staff members to stay fit and embrace heart-healthy habits year-round. The American Heart Association recently honored the hospital with a Gold Level Fit-Friendly Worksite Award, which recognizes businesses and employers who “champion the health of their employees by creating physical activity programs within the workplace.”
