“Meet the Mormons,” a documentary film that examines the very diverse lives of six devout members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, opens in Plano and Frisco theaters this weekend.

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a Mormon? This film examines six ordinary individuals with six extraordinary stories.

Filmed on location and across the globe, “Meet the Mormons” takes viewers on a journey into the day-to-day realities of individuals living in the U.S., Costa Rica, Nepal and beyond.

From their individual passions to their daily struggles, each story paints a picture as rich and unique as the next while challenging the stereotypes that surround the Mormon faith.

Net proceeds from the film will be donated to the American Red Cross. Watch the trailer and download a song from the movie by former “American Idol” winner David Archuletta.

“Meet the Mormons” will be showing at Plano Cinemark West starting Thursday night.
