Collin College Auteur Film Series will host a free viewing of The Untouchables, a story about Eliot Ness and his team of crime fighters who battle with Al Capone in Prohibition-era Chicago, at 7 p.m. on April 22 in the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

Carolyn Perry, professor of humanities and film, said each of the films in this year’s series deals with different aspects of the Great Depression.

“The Untouchables addresses Prohibition and the criminal infrastructure that developed to supply Americans with illegal liquor,” Perry said. “This Oscar-winning film is also noteworthy for its stylized violence, including homage to Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin.”
