Cadet Griffin Henry Receives General Douglas MacArthur Foundation Cadet Leadership Award

Frisco, TX – On March 30, 2019, Missouri Military Academy (MMA) Cadet Griffin Henry was awarded the General Douglas MacArthur Foundation Cadet Leadership Award, an honor reserved for the most outstanding cadets attending military schools and colleges across the United States.

Sponsored by the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Foundation, the General Douglas MacArthur Cadet Leadership Award rewards outstanding leadership of junior officers who embody the ideals General MacArthur stood for: duty, honor and country.

“Cadet Henry consistently performed his duties in an exemplary manner,” said Col. R.L. Grabowski, MMA cadet life commandant. “His professionalism, initiative and demonstrated ‘can do’ attitude are noteworthy and set examples for others to emulate.”

During the 2018-19 academic year, Henry served as Bravo Company commander, vice president of Delta Phi Honor Society and president of the National Honor Society. In the playing fields, he has earned varsity letters in both soccer and rifle marksmanship.

Henry also volunteered to take responsibility of organizing, training, and managing two concessions stands during the University of Missouri home football games. Under his leadership, cadets earned over $15 thousand dollars in profits, which will directly benefit his brotherhood by supporting academic, athletic and scholarship programs at MMA.

Henry is the son of Jill Minsky of Frisco, Texas and James Henry of Shreveport, Louisiana. He will graduate from MMA in May 2019 and plans to attend Texas A&M where he will major in biology.
