Frisco Family Services Dream Becomes a Reality

Frisco Family Services is pleased to announce the public phase of its Capital Campaign to build and relocate to a new Client Services Building to increase capacity and efficiency, enabling them to meet the increased demand for services as the population grows.

As the only non-profit social service agency providing emergency crisis assistance in the Frisco and Frisco ISD community, Frisco Family Services provides support to one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation. Frisco Family Services has seen great success since its beginning in 1994, however, the communities they serve have changed dramatically over the last 25 years. Today, the population is more diverse, the senior population has grown, and the recent development boom has put a financial strain on many individuals and families in the local community - both longtime residents and recent transplants.

“Frisco is a great place to live, it’s growing, there are wonderful amenities, but even with all that there is part of the population of Frisco that needs help,” said Capital Campaign Chair and 10-year supporter of Frisco Family Services, Mike Mullen. “Frisco Family Services provides that help. The time, resources, and donations provided by our community are so appreciated, and most important is when I talk with people that Frisco Family Services serves – we’re building hope. As Frisco has grown, those needs have grown and we’re now at a place where we cannot address all those needs.”

In its current facilities, the nonprofit is operating at maximum capacity, limiting the ability to efficiently keep up with the growing and diverse needs. Over the years, they have had to offer services in multiple locations. In addition, some services do not have dedicated spaces, requiring a change in location from year to year. This is confusing for current and potential clients, donors and volunteers.

“Our current Client Services Building is separated from our classrooms, Food Pantry and Resale store,” said Executive Director of Frisco Family Services, Nicole S. Bursey, MSW. “We are spread across two campuses, blocks from each other, which is not efficient for our clients or staff. But more important is that over the next decade and a half, the population of Frisco is expected to nearly double. Just looking at the new development, it’s not hard to imagine how big and busy Frisco is becoming. That means more people, and more people means more needs. To meet the growing demand and expand the impact of our services, we must build a new facility. For over two decades we’ve been partners in transforming lives, and together we will rise to meet the increasing challenges.”

The new Client Services Building will provide more space, and new opportunities that include expanded programs, on site counseling, a learning lab, vocational training, simultaneous classes and multi-purpose flexible space for Seasonal Programs. A centralized location means better client experiences through streamlined services, increased privacy, and easy accessibility and visibility.

Frisco Family Services wants YOU to be part of its long-term vision to build a single campus where all of our services and offices will be housed.
