Summer in Texas is when the season’s best flavors shine in the kitchen. July classes at Williams-Sonoma at Stonebriar Centre focus on making every meal the best. Here’s the schedule:
- SATURDAY, JULY 13 AT 9:30 A.M. – FROM GARDEN TO CUPBOARD: CANNING TOMATOES. This class will surprise individuals who are new to canning as they discover how easy and safe modern canning truly is. Attendees will get an excellent introduction to the technique of how to can tomatoes. Experts will demonstrate the tricks of the trade for preserving summer tomatoes to enjoy throughout the year. No charge to attend.
- SATURDAY, JULY 20 AT 9:30 A.M. – FROM GARDEN TO CUPBOARD: PERFECT PICKLES. Pickling, an age-old technique for preserving foods, is enjoying a revival these days. And no wonder – who can resist a colorful jar of pickled garden vegetables or crunchy homemade pickles atop a grilled burger? This class shows how to create pickling blends, both sweet and spicy, and make quick refrigerator pickles as well as canned ones. No charge to attend.
- SATURDAY, JULY 27 AT 9:30 A.M. – FARMERS’ MARKET FINDS. Farmers’ market stalls are brimming with summer’s fresh fruits and vegetables, including seasonal favorites corn, tomatoes, bell peppers and squashes. This class will offer ideas on what to do with all the summer bounty, teaching new recipes to make the most of garden-fresh finds. No charge to attend.
