McKinney Christian Academy Upper and Middle School students took part in a 5K Color Run on Nov. 6.  The students, staff and volunteers walked to Bonnie Wenk Park from the MCA campus for the start of the race.  Over 400 students and adults participated in the run.  The award ceremony was held back on campus.  Race winners were announced while the participants enjoyed lunch of Mooyah Burgers, chips, and Love Shack snow cones.  Each year the Upper and Middle School students participate in a 5K Run.  This is the first year the Color Run element was added, but will definitely be repeated.  All involved thought the colors added a great deal of excitement to the race!  The 5K Run is a fundraiser for the school, and this year’s funds will go towards a new large rear projector screen and upgrades to the sound system, science lab equipment, band instruments and uniforms for the implementation of a marching band, the Headmaster’s Aid fund, and additional campus capital improvements.
