McKinney Christian Academy senior student Julie James will be featured on the Dale Hansen Show on November 2. Julie was selected as Mr. Hansen's "Scholar Athlete of the Week".  Julie's Elite Soccer Team competed in the National Championships in Richmond, Virginia this summer and took first place.   Julie has made the Under-20 National Soccer Team and attended a training camp October 12-19 in Chula Vista, California.  The training camp focused on qualifying for the 2016 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup.  

Julie has been in National Honor Society three years, has served on student government four years, and is currently serving as Student Body President.  In addition to excelling at soccer, she has played varsity basketball four years, and varsity track four years.  Julie is a two-time TAPPS all-State basketball player and a State Champion track team member in the 400 meter run.

MCA Upper School Principal Laura Smith stated "We are very proud of Julie, and everything that she is accomplishing.  Julie is a great example of showing Christ's love through excellence in everything she pursues".
