The American Legion Peter J Courcy Post 178 in Frisco is looking for new members.

The American Legion is the nation's largest and most powerful organization of U.S. wartime veterans and their families. It counts 2.4 million members who operate through nearly 14,000 posts across the United States and beyond. The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security and continued devotion to our fellow Servicemembers and Veterans.

Hundreds of local American Legion programs and activities strengthen the nation one community at a time.  A few programs we participate in are:

Boy’s State Program (Post 178 Sponsored Seven Junior High School Boys in 2014), Junior Shooting Program, working with local schools to teach Americanism, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran's Day, Frisco Community Parade, donation support to local youth groups/scouts, etc.

If you have served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces during any of the war eras listed below, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving — you are eligible for membership in The American Legion!
