Frisco home sales increase slightly, home prices continue to rise

MetroTex Association of REALTORS releases real estate statistics for June 2016

Frisco home sales increased slightly in June and home prices also increased slightly, according to the June 2016 North Texas housing market report released today by the MetroTex Association of REALTORS. 

“Homes are selling very quickly in Frisco and inventory is starting to catch up,” said Russell Berry, president of MetroTex. “While it’s still a seller’s market in Frisco, we’re seeing a bit more available than before.”

According to the report, 356 homes were sold in Frisco in June 2106, up 1.4 percent compared to the year prior. The median price for Frisco area homes increased 3.5 percent year-over-year to $389,190 during the same time frame.

Frisco’s monthly home inventory was 3.0 months in June 2016. The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University cites that 6.5 months of inventory represents a market in which supply and demand for homes is balanced. 

Homes spent an average of 29 days on the market in June 2016. Additionally, there were 792 active listings for the Frisco housing market during the same time frame.
