Frisco Library Earns National Recognition

The US Conference of Mayors (USCM) has selected Frisco Public Library as one of three national finalists for ESL programs as part of their 2017 DollarWise Innovation Grant. This honor recognizes the Library’s commitment to education and service to the City’s diverse population through its English Language Lab.

Grant finalists are identified as delivering programs that are financially responsible and socially impactful. In its annual publication, Innovations in Financial Education, the USCM explains, “…these cities have among the best financial literacy programs in the nation.”

“It is an honor to have the Library’s ESL program recognized,” says Shelley Holley, Library Director. “Essential classes, such as ESL have direct impact for the public. We are fortunate to have the support of our Mayor and City Council who empower us to consistently innovate and deliver classes and services that anticipate our community’s needs and expectations.”

Grants were awarded in three categories this year: ESL, Prisoner Re-entry, and Public Housing.
