Individuals can bring a favorite knife and the retailer will sharpen it at no charge. Note: limit one knife per customer.

This class uncovers the differences between sautéing and pan-frying, as well as how to make a quick-cook pan sauce. Attendees discover how a pan and preparations make the difference between well cooked and soggy.
  • PREP SCHOOL: LEARN TO BRAISE – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 AT 9:30 A.M. As the weather cools, everyone craves tender braised meats and vegetables with satisfying sauces. Attendees learn how to braise correctly, from which pan to use to how to adjust a recipe if it is being made on the stove, in the oven or in an electric slow cooker. This class will also teach how to create that slow-cooked concentrated flavor more quickly and advise which foods are best for braising.
  • MODERN COMFORTS: THE NEW CASSEROLE – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 AT 9:30 A.M. This class is for cooks for whom a piping-hot casserole coming out of the oven is a welcome sight after a long day of work and school.
