FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Frisco Sports Network Launches

Frisco, Texas – July 21, 2015.  Sports in Frisco have become a big business —big enough that a community network has formed for area sports-related businesses and organizations.

“Frisco Sports Network has officially launched and is now available for enrollment for both Frisco sports businesses and the community,” said Arneva Martin, President of the new organization.  Our mission is to create easy access to a Singular Network of Frisco-based sports organizations to create positive community and economic impact.”

Described by its founders as a “chamber of commerce” catering specifically to sports organizations, athletics and, most importantly, community participants, Frisco Sports Network is an all-in-one portal for every athlete, coach, director, parent and business to find all they need to know about what is going on in Frisco sports.  The website is www.friscosportsnetwork.com.

Following the groups launch, the network’s short-term goal is to establish an educational base for the sports community, acting as an informational resource for expanding organizations and build networking opportunities among sports organizations.

“It’s really unique when you live in a community where the sports entities are willing to work together to enhance the sports experience together.  To have that cooperation already built in, our team felt that it was a great opportunity to bundle it up through public media, making it much easier for the community to access” Martin stated.

FSN now has a number of organizations in the process of joining as members of the Network, including several volunteer-staffed groups that rely on the support of a central body.  For those that do join, the Network’s organizers will offer a variety of perks based on membership level, providing member groups with enhanced visibility and greater involvement, organizers said.

“[If] you’re a hotel or a restaurant and you want to put your name in front of a bunch of sports teams that are bringing people to town, we will offer advertising as another aspect of what we’re doing,” Kerry Webster, Vice President stated.

Frisco is a sports economy, which is home to the Dr Pepper Ballpark, Toyota Stadium and Dr Pepper Arena, among others, Frisco’s economic development is tied closely with its growth as a major sports center in the state. According to Marla Roe, Executive Director of the Frisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, in 2013 alone, nearly 40 groups brought more than $21 million in economic impact to the city through various events—and that only covers those with which the bureau was involved.

As FSN works within the local community to create and promote opportunities for sports, the CVB continues to work at the state and national levels to bring more business to the City with its ongoing campaign, Frisco Is Sports.

“We’re all trying to convey the same message, just with different audiences,” Roe said.

As the Network launches, FSN team members are collaborating with business leaders in the community to ensure alignment of its opportunity and growth strategy.  FSN has recruited Advisory Committee members Chuck Brakes, Sports Sales Manager at the Frisco Conventions and Visitor’s Bureau, Frisco Is Sports initiative; Malcolm Farmer, President at Texas Legends, NBA Development League Team of Dallas Mavericks and Chelsea Smith, SportsCare Liaison at Baylor Medical Center.   Frisco Parks and Recreation will also hold a seat on the Advisory Committee.

“I’ve already had meetings with the FSN team, and I love what they are doing in regards to [providing] basic guidelines about running a great program, excellence in coaching and parent and athlete code of conduct.  The Network offers sports organizations a way to collaborate and our community members with one place to easily find Frisco sports opportunities,” stated Chuck Brakes.
