Sci-Tech Discovery Center, Frisco’s leading family-friendly cultural and educational destination, is hosting an array of educational events this season for North Texas children. The activities allow youth to stretch their minds while participating in an interactive and exciting environment. See the list of events below taking place this season.
The Eyellusions Exhibition (Open now through Jan. 3, 2016) A Victorian-themed time traveling exhibit exploring the wonderful and vast world of illusions. This exhibit reveals the neuroscience behind mind-bending illusions and ambiguous phenomena. See admission pricing here.
Preschool Story Time (every Tuesday and Friday at 10:30 a.m.): This story time is made just for little scientists, ages 3 to 5. The young learners will enjoy stories, songs and hands-on activities geared toward “Mind Stretching Fun.” This event is free with admission and does not require reservations.
Science with a Princess (Nov. 7, 2015, 10:30 a.m. to noon): Mirror, mirror on the wall…who is the smartest scientist of them all? Snow White hosts hands-on science experiments for children and will be available for a photos and autographs. Participants will learn how to make and erupt apple volcanoes, experiment with absorbent polymer and more. Price: $20 members; $25 non-members.
Discovery Camps (Nov. 23, 24, 25, 2015): This fall, Sci-Tech will offer one-day camps with themes like grossology, splatology and force and motion. Pre-K members: $40/day; Pre-K non-members: $45/day; Grades 1-3 members: $75; Grades 1-3 non-members: $85
Science with a Princess (Dec. 5, 2015, 10:30 a.m. to noon): Celebrate science with Princess Elsa of Frozen. She will lead winter-themed scientific activities such as erupting snowballs and creating snowflake ornaments. Photos and autographs with Elsa are also available. Price: $20 members; $25 non-members.
Birthday Parties: Host your child’s next birthday at Sci-Tech for an unforgettable experience that ties science with fun! Select themes such as Seussical Science, Bubbleology, Blast Lab and more. (Ideal for children ages 3+.)
