If you've got a lot extra stuff laying around your house or garage, this weekend will offer you the opportunity to do a little spring cleaning. The City of Frisco is hosting Chunk Your Junk on Saturday, April 21 in the parking lot of IKEA.
From 8 a.m. until noon, residents of Frisco can bring items for recycling, donation, or the safe disposal of hazardous materials.
Accepted items include:
- Documents for shredding (Four-box limit, box size not to exceed 12”W x 15.5”L x 10.5”H)
- Bundled cardboard
- Bagged plastic bags and Styrofoam
- Eyeglasses for donation
- Batteries
- Household chemicals, paint, gasoline, oil, pesticides
- Prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Metal, refrigerators, appliances
- Computers, printers, cell phones, television sets, and other e-waste
- Fencing and other trash
- Yard waste, limbs and untreated wood for mulching
- Compost & mulch for sale
- Old clothes, furniture, books, other items for donation
In addition, residents with a City of Frisco utility billing account may dispose of hazardous waste items including computer monitors, televisions and refrigerators. Those who wish to dispose of household chemicals, paint, electronic waste, or items requiring Freon extraction must present a valid driver's license and a current Frisco water bill with a matching address.
