No one is born an expert; becoming one takes practice, teachings and application in order to be great. While many might not realize it, this method also applies to parenting.

Lead Pastors Keith and Sheila Craft of Elevate Life Church in Frisco discovered that many parents in the community needed help and weren’t always sure where to turn with the hard questions of parenting. The Crafts felt led to fill this need by hosting an annual Parent Summit that empowers and educates parents on how to be their best when it comes to raising children.

This year’s Parent Summit will be focused on teaching parents to not only empower themselves but also to empower their children. Founder of Aim For Success, Marilyn Morris, will lead three powerful sessions. Morris has spent 25 years coaching more than two million parents, children and teachers to succeed. The sessions are designed for parents, grandparents and future parents of children from toddlers to teens.

“At Elevate Life Church we take parenting and the building of strong, lasting foundations seriously. Our heart is to have every parent be empowered and informed in order to equip their children for a successful, strong and happy life,” says Lead Pastor Keith Craft, “It’s never too early or too late to build a strong foundation for your child’s life. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate parenthood and educate ourselves to better the lives of our children.”

Parent Summit sessions include: ABC’s of the Birds & Bees: How to talk about sex and share Godly values with ease; Power to Succeed: How to help your children avoid tobacco, alcohol and drugs; and Empowered to Defend: How to prevent your child from being bullied and how to teach them to stand up for those who are. This exciting event will take place on Saturday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per person to attend and $7 per child for childcare.
