Frisco residents will soon be able to check out a book written by two students at Liberty High School.

More than 40 students taking Pre-AP Spanish 2 were tasked with writing and illustrating bilingual children’s books as part of a classroom project.

The goal was to help students differentiate when to use the two past tenses of the Spanish language.

“I developed this project so that we could have a chance to read a lot of authentic examples to see how the two tenses are used together, and then to demonstrate what we learned through writing our own children's books,” said teacher Sra. Amanda Bainbridge. “It's an honor to be able to partner with the Frisco Public Library this year so that we can read and donate our books to a younger generation to hopefully inspire reading and writing.”

Liberty students presented their books to the public during a special event on April 15 at the library.

Students Mia Rho and Willow Rock will have their book, "La Mascota Perfecta" or "A Perfect Pet," listed in the library’s catalog and put into circulation as part of the “local authors” section.
