All Frisco ISD middle and high school students and their parents are invited to a special program entitled “Building Strong Family Relationships” on Saturday, March 22.

Participants will travel to Camp Wisdom as part of a collaboration between the Frisco ISD Student and Parent Empowerment Program and Circle Ten Council of Boy Scouts of America.

Students and parents will take part in outside activities such as a zip line, trust falls, etc. Please wear appropriate clothing and tennis shoes or camping boots.

Transportation will be provided from the FISD Administration Building, 5515 Ohio Drive, at 7 a.m. on March 22. Participants are expected to return to Frisco at approximately 2:15 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

To register, please contact FISD Coordinator of Student Achievement and Involvement Larry Lewis at lewisl@friscoisd.org or 469-633-6594.

Every student and adult must also complete an application to participate. Follow the links to access the application: Adult I Student and return them to Dr. Lewis.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 19 at 5 p.m.

The Student and Parent Empowerment Program typically meets one Saturday a month at the Student Opportunity Center, 6928 Maple Street.

The program aims to enrich the lives of children and give parents a toolbox for helping their kids navigate middle school, high school and beyond. Educators work with local businesses, community organizations and volunteers to develop and plan each session.

“This is a free opportunity for students and parents to come together, learn something new and discuss real-life topics,” Dr. Lewis said. “We want to provide lifelong skills for our students and empower parents to be the best that they can be.”
