The legal system can be confusing, but the Collin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office has designed a program to allow residents an inside look at the way the DA’s office operates.

The upcoming session of the DA’s Citizen Prosecutor Academy will begin Sept. 13 and run through Nov. 15, concluding with a graduation ceremony for those completing the course, giving you an opportunity to learn the basics of the criminal justice system.   Presentations will be given by prosecutors, detectives, judges and law enforcement to give participants a view of the development of a criminal case, from arrest to trial.

The DA’s Citizen Prosecutor Academy is a free 10-week program, open to citizens 18 and over, with sessions held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays at the Collin County Courthouse.   Applications for the course must be submitted by Sept. 6.
