Frisco, TEXAS (December 20, 2011) Frisco Square Development, NBC5, and The City of Frisco announce Christmas in the Square’s Holiday Lights Display will continue through January 8th, 2012 in the heart of Frisco Square, located at Main Street and Coleman Boulevard.  Visitors can drive or stroll through and enjoy the shops, restaurants, and holiday displays around the square.  The light show will be extended again this year to welcome the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game that will be played at 1 p.m. eastern time on Jan. 7th and broadcast via ESPN2.  The game will be played at the 23,500-seat Pizza Hut Park located across from Frisco Square in Frisco, Texas.  This championship game is hosted by the locally-based Southland Conference, the City of Frisco, and the Hunt Sports Group and is the culmination of a 20-team championship bracket.

The Lights on Ice outdoor ice skating rink is also open through January 8th and is sponsored by Sooner Management, LLC.  A New Year’s Eve Skating Spectacular will be held on December 31st between 6 – 7:00 p.m. followed by a public skate until 10 p.m.  Daily ice skating remains available under the lights and music of Christmas in the Square M-F, 2 – 10 p.m. and Sat-Sun, 12 – 10 p.m. with a cost of $10pp including skate rentals.  Scallywags Pirate Ship will be serving Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Packaged Cookies, and Shaved Ice for sale through January 8th, and the event includes FREE Admission to the Light Show.
