Last year the Frisco Convention & Visitors Bureau received more than 300 entries in the You Be the Tour Guide Photo Contest. This year it’s possible those entries could double based on the amount of emails and phone calls from people interested in making submissions.

The 5th Annual You Be the Tour Guide Photo Contest is already underway and ends at midnight on April 18, with only (5) entries per person. In order to be eligible, you have to be an amateur photographer and all photos must be taken within the city limits of Frisco. The goal of the contest is to promote tourism through images of people, places and events and position Frisco as interesting, attractive and fun! It doesn’t matter where you live. Not sure what to enter? Take a look at our online visitors guide for inspiration. Go here for terms and conditions. Look for camera icon on homepage or in the events section of the website www.visitfrisco.com to submit entries.

In a change from past contests, the CVB has added a 2nd & 3rd place prize to FISD students. First Place will get a $500 gift card from Stonebriar Centre. New this year is a 2nd place prize of a group flight session for (5) at iFLY Indoor Skydiving and the 3rd place prize will be a family (4) pack of tickets in the all-you-can-eat section of a RoughRiders game.

“We are very pleased to once again partner with the Frisco CVB for the ‘You Be The Tour Guide’ contest. This contest encourages adults and high-school students to take an in-depth look at Frisco and all its features – and then to use their creativity to capture its very essence. In years past, the winning images, all of which are on display here in a gallery on the lower level entrance to the management offices, have been outstanding,” says Randy Barnett, Senior General Manager of Stonebriar Centre.

“The response has been great and each year we are more and more impressed with the submissions. We hope for another enthusiastic response from the public,” according to Marla Roe, FCVB Executive Director. More details to come on an awards ceremony to be held Saturday, May, 10 at Stonebriar Centre.
