Frisco Family Services is pleased to announce that their annual community-wide Food Drive, organized to restock Frisco’s only community Food Pantry, will take place this year on November 11, 2017.The goal of the drive is to receive donations from caring community members in order to provide the much needed food for individuals and families in crisis, living in the Frisco and Frisco ISD community. As the community continues to grow, so does the need for services. With more people relocating to the Frisco and Frisco ISD community daily, Frisco’s only community Food Pantry needs your help keeping up with the increase in demand.

“When you look at Frisco as a whole, it can be difficult to see that there is such a need for our services, but the reality is a crisis can happen to anyone, anywhere,” said Executive Director, Nicole S. Bursey. “Our population is exploding, and with that comes an increase in demand for services, like visits to the Food Pantry. We are seeing new clients walk through our doors every day that need help just meeting the basic needs of their families. This Food Drive is the perfect opportunity to come out and help our neighbors in our very own community. Your participation will help us meet the huge demand for food in our community this holiday season.”

The Food Drive will take place at Frisco Family Services’ Food Pantry (9058 Dogwood St.) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. that day. Community members are encouraged to take pride in their community and to help keep their neighbors in crisis from going hungry. Whether community members are out enjoying the community parade that day, spending time with their families or enjoying other activities, making time to support those in need of your help locally is crucial.

Frisco Family Services houses the only community Food Pantry in Frisco. Last year, Frisco Family Services Food Pantry provided 474,600 meals to neighbors in crisis. The Food Pantry is client choice, where clients shop in a grocery store-like setting for the food they know their families and themselves will eat.
