The national Friends of the Poor Walk will take place in Frisco on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Phillips Creeks Trails to benefit those living in poverty. The event is sponored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP), a nonprofit organization that helps the poor in Frisco, Prosper, Little Elm and Celina.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Phillips Creek Trails is located at 355 Stonebrook Parkway, near FM 423 and Stonebrook Parkway, near the Walmart. Free parking is available in the Walmart parking lot, off Stonebrook Parkway.
All proceeds and donations from the event will directly benefit the people served by SVdP. A recommended donation is $25; walkers are encouraged to reach a personal minimum goal of $100. T-shirts will be awarded to registered walkers!
