Frisco Family Services has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Frisco Family Services’ focus for #GivingTuesday this year is to keep the refrigerators of Frisco’s only community food pantry stocked with milk. A collective group of donors have generously committed to providing 4,582 gallons of milk ($17,000), and challenges the community to do the same! Occurring this year on November 29, #GivingTuesday kicks-off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate by improving their local communities and giving back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support. Do your part and help us match our goal of providing the food pantry with a supply of 9,170 gallons of milk. Together we can change lives in our community!
“You never know what the people around you are going through,” said Executive Director, Nicole Bursey. “Yesterday things were normal, but today things can be very different as a result of an unforeseen crisis situation. #GivingTuesday is a great way to gather the community together for one purpose, and make one big impact. People in our community go hungry every day, and we have an opportunity to show we care, and make a difference.”
Frisco Family Services houses the only food pantry in Frisco. The food pantry distributed over 567,800 pounds of food last year, including perishable food items such as meat, vegetables, eggs and dairy products. Frisco Family Services would not exist without the immense support offered from the communities it serves. The food pantry provides food for families and individuals who are experiencing a crisis, and cannot provide food for themselves or their families. #GivingTuesday is a great opportunity to get involved in your community and prevent hunger now.
