On May 8th, Centennial Medical Center celebrated Nurses Day by providing breakfast and lunch for the  hospital’s nursing staff members. They were treated to two meals and given awards for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. The festivities were part of the hospital’s 2014 Nurses Week celebration.

“Our hospital depends on our nurses day in and day out to provide the best care possible for our patients,” said Calee Travis, RN, chief nursing officer at Centennial. “We’re incredibly grateful for all their hard work and dedication year round, but Nurses Week is a time where we are able to stop and say ‘thank you’ by intentionally expressing our gratitude.”

This year, Nurses Week was celebrated May 6 through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
