Frisco, Texas (April 29, 2014) –  Centennial Medical Center is proud to announce that the honor of Tenet Hero has been awarded to case manager Joan Williams of Plano. Williams is a natural advocate who cares about people and has worked for Centennial as a case manager since 2007.

Tenet’s Heroes program is designed to honor employees who exemplify the company’s values of quality, integrity, service, innovation and transparency. Tenet Heroes nominees are recognized as staff members who frequently go above and beyond the call of duty in clinical or non-clinical roles. No more than two individuals are nominated from each hospital, regional office, home office and outpatient center for the esteemed award.

Williams goes to bat for patients who need equipment or procedures but are unable to get them without additional paperwork and representation. Before receiving her RN degree, Williams was a licensed paramedic and practiced in emergency medicine.

When she’s not helping patients at work, Williams helps community members in need. She and her husband are active in several local philanthropies and  have even taken in individuals who found themselves temporarily displaced or homeless.

Embodying the true spirit of the campus, Williams brings a combination of care and professionalism to the workplace and Centennial is proud to announce her as its most recent Tenet Hero.
